The Grand Foundation has worked to support arts programming at the Grand Theatre Center for the Arts with annual underwriting contributions since its opening in 2007. Foundation underwriting has supported concerts, exhibitions, classes, workshops and special events. Additionally, the Foundation underwrites the costs for some art supplies, art making and technical equipment, and hospitality services. The Grand Foundation works collaboratively with the City of Tracy to make classes more affordable for the residents of our community.
The Grand Foundation is a community-based, non-profit organization, formerly known as the Arts Leadership Alliance (ALA). The original ALA was founded in 1998 to promote the cultural development of the community.
While the particular classes underwritten by the Grand Foundation change each semester, the following classes are examples of the kinds of programming that are offered at reduced cost by the generous support of the Grand Foundation and its supporters:

A slow, gentle introduction to tap dancing. Students can stand, sit, or use the barre to learn standards such as the soft shore and shim sham

This class is designed to increase artistic perception by opening young actors up to hidden resources within themselves.
African D’jembe Drumming

Group piano class is based on computer technology using E-Media Piano Basic/Advanced software.
