Reminiscent of days past, the Grand Theatre will transform into a Movie House to showcase the works of young filmmakers, providing a platform for them to have their films screened by the public and to be juried and awarded.  The festival will include professional Film Talks by two special guest speakers, a filmmakers’ reception, and monetary awards for first, second and third place films in both divisions.

Join us for this exciting premier event:  This Student Film Festival will showcase the films from students of universities, community colleges and film/digital arts schools throughout California, Arizona, Nevada, and OregonThe festival will also include a division for high school student films.

Each film showcased will be 3-15 minutes in length.  The genres will include: Indie, Experimental, Animation, Documentary and Political/Cause, Narrative, PSA, and others.

Film submissions from both divisions will be screened and juried by impartial experts in Digital/Film media. There will be one First Place Overall Student Film Festival winner chosen from each of the two divisions. The First Place Overall Student Film Festival winner (of either division) will be awarded a $1000 Scholarship. The Second Place Overall Student Film Festival winner (of either division) will be awarded a $750 scholarship. The Third Place overall Student Film Festival winner (of either division) will be awarded a $500 scholarship.  If graduating from college, winners will receive monetary prizes in lieu of scholarships.  Additionally, in each Division, there will be an honorable mention winner. Honorable Mention winners will be awarded ribbons and bragging rights.
